Avoid a Boat Insurance Claim
Beware an opportunist will be watching you...

Security on your boat is no different to ensuring you house is secure. Unfortunately burglary is a growth industry with the majority of break-ins are by “opportunist” rather than “professional” criminals.
Remember that you can protect yourself by:
- Ensuring external doors are fitted with good locks. We recommend that a Mortice Deadlock is fitted.
- Do not leave keys under the mat, on a piece of string through the letterboxes or hanging up near windows
- Fit window locks and make sure all ground floor windows and vulnerable first floor windows are closed when the vessel is left empty.
- When out during the evening a time switch can be installed to switch on lights at pre-set times - these cost very little.
- When going on holiday remember to tell the Police or friends and neighbours and do not forget to cancel the milk and papers.
